"It’s seeking out the things that connect us in the hopes of forming a deeper bond within ourselves, with each other, and with the world we live in. It’s about lifting each other up because we know, deep down, that together we are stronger. It’s knowing that your story is part of a library of stories, and each story holds value."

What was your previous (or current other) career, training or background?

As a cultural mythologist and journalist, I founded Narrative Communications, one of Vancouver’s first brand storytelling studios. I then co-founded Seeking Ceremony as a place to reimagine the role of ritual and ceremony in modern life and death. I’m a trained Celebrant and convene ceremonies, courses, and retreats around the world.

What change are you seeking to create through this initiative?

I want to inspire people with possibilities when it comes to acknowledging times of change and moments of transition in our lives. I want to shift the narratives surrounding grief, death and dying and help people create rituals that reflect their unique stories.

What does the concept of ‘the greater good’ mean to you?

For me, the greater good is a conscious decision to create meaning beyond our individual experience. It’s seeking out the things that connect us in the hopes of forming a deeper bond within ourselves, with each other, and with the world we live in. It’s about lifting each other up because we know, deep down, that together we are stronger. It’s knowing that your story is part of a library of stories, and each story holds value.
